Your Community Line-up

community stage

The Iron Horse’s Community Stage allows you to enjoy live music from local artists, all for free. With so much great local talent, the stage is sure to fill the festival with the most wonderful sounds! Here is our amazing line-up:

Thursday, August 18th:

On Thursday and Friday, we will have musicians playing from 5:00-7:00 and 8:00-10:00.

  • Chris Casserly & the Keepsakes is our first local band to take the stage, with light classic rock and a dedication to making their performances the most fun possible for them and their audiences.
  • 22-year-old Justin Maki is up next, a talented singer-songwriter with a wide range of skills but particular finesse in folk-riff-rock.

Friday, August 19th:

On Thursday and Friday, we will have musicians playing from 5:00-7:00 and 8:00-10:00.

  • Friday night begins with the music of Kerri Manning and her smoky, rich tone and heartfelt original pieces, along with classic covers.
  • Wrapping up Friday evening will be an act entitled Nimway, which is described as a “cultural feast of local musicians and performance artists“ –a perfect display of our local talent!

Saturday, August 20th:

On Saturday performances start at 12:30pm and end at 10pm.

  • The stage will come to life beginning at 12:30 on Saturday, starting with 97-year-old war vet Butch Haller. Butch performs pop songs in a completely new form, with a rootsy, rockabilly feel that works shockingly well!
  • More music will be performed on and off through the afternoon from locals The Shangles, and more!
  • Later at 6:00, Jetfighter will perform, a punk/rock band with “infectious pop melodies, chunky punk riffs, and 80s rock & roll swagger.”
  • Following that will be Black Frame Spectacle at 7:00. This band flawlessly combines the sounds of punk, rockabilly, and rock & roll, creating a sound that knows no one single style or era.
  • Finally from 8:00-10:00 is The Outcasts, a cover band which performs classics from the likes of Elvis, the Beatles, and Roy Orbison. Their catchy and fun vintage tunes are sure to keep the Iron Horse audience on the dance floor all night!

Sunday, August 21st:

Enjoy music Sunday from 12pm-4pm.

  • As the festival comes to a close for 2016, Jerome Thomas will perform his lovely acoustic tunes from 12:00-2:00.
  • Experience the last performance of the festival with local favourite John Milles who will bring the festival to a close from 3:00-4:00, while gracing the stage with incredible folk and rock tunes.
